Marketing has taken on the content of Bollywood - Kay Kay Menon

Kay Kay Menon, the Graduate Management turned-actor who has been in Bollywood for over a decade, the film feels bad because most of them are riding on marketing gimmicks, while the content has taken a back seat.

"Marketing has taken on the content of today and I have serious objections to that. It is the job of marketers to think of creative ways to publicize a movie. Just adding a point of the film is not marketing," Kay Kay told IANS on phone from Mumbai.

"I'm not for that nonsense. If the content of the movie is good, would not need a serial number to work," he added.


The 48-year-old feels filmmakers have shifted focus to other aspects of the film not as relevant and as a result the contents of the movie is being committed.

"The film is being misused today. Filmmakers today are more focused on that dance step must be better for an actor, how the music should be packaged, as a result of content becomes secondary," said .
